Jon Hawker

Jon Hawker

President

Jon Hawker began his construction career working with his grandfather over 30 years ago. Erecting grain silos, elevators and setting truck scales on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, he quickly fell in love with the trade. Upon graduation from the University of Virginia with a Civil Engineering Degree, Jon pursued a position with a site work and heavy civil construction company in Virginia; Jon very quickly rose through the ranks from estimator to District Manager. All the while honing his skills as a strong team leader.

In 2000, Jon and his family moved to TN where he spent a brief period of time in the public sector as a Capital Project Manager for the City of Clarksville TN. It was here that the insatiable desire to be on the delivery versus receiving side of the construction process came to the forefront. In 2002, he took a position with one of the premier custom home builders in East Tennessee. Although Jon was hired on in the Commercial division and managed several projects in that sector, he very quickly was shifted over to the Residential side of the company. Over the past 15 years, Jon has worked on countless high end custom residential and commercial projects in an area known as Blackberry Farm. Jon managed new home construction projects from 1 million to 6.5 million renovation projects in excess of 2.5 million, and multiple projects for the Blackberry Farm Hotel. The projects ranged from $100,000 remodels to five million dollar new facilities including complete dining venues, wine cellars, and overnight accommodations all in record time and all on or under budget.

Jon understands the complexity and sensitivity of custom construction and takes the responsibility of financial stewardship very seriously. Assembling teams of experienced craftsmen and facilitating the flow of information throughout the design and construction phase are areas Jon specializes in. This in turn frees the homeowner’s time to truly enjoy the construction process; something that is often missing.

Jon, his wife of 24 years and three children recently moved back to the Charlottesville Area. They love serving in their local church as well as spending time with their children. In Tennessee both were actively involved in the Foster Parenting process. Jon also volunteered extensively with a non-profit called Live-it where on two separate occasions he designed, planned and lead the construction teams of over 100 volunteers to build two homes each in under 7 days. Jon has also partnered with several groups to participate in domestic and international mission trips.
